RIGHTS OF EVERY CHILD WORKSHOPS

We hold workshops with groups of children virtually or in-person to get kids discussing, sharing, and creating around their rights!  The UNCRC itself calls for adults and children to learn about it and to share human rights and freedoms. Education is a key piece! The UNCRC is all about both PROTECTION of children and their PARTICIPATION. Children’s voices should be heard and valued; kids should be part of whatever concerns them.

“The evidence shows overwhelmingly that children who learn about and experience their rights are children who demonstrate the fundamentals of good citizenship. They gain knowledge not only of their basic rights but also their corresponding social responsibilities.

They develop the attitudes and values that are necessary for the promotion and protection of the rights of others, and they acquire the behavioral skills necessary for effective participation in a democratic society.”

– B. Howe and K. Covell, Empowering Children: Children's Rights Education as a Pathway to Citizenship (via Jonathan Todres’s lecture at University of Leiden’s Frontiers of Children's Rights Summer School, July 2025).
